International Volunteers Day is recognised worldwide on December 5th by mandate from the United Nations General Assembly. We take this day to thank each and every person across the globe for their generous contributions toward helping each other and their communities with no expectation of personal reward. 2020 has been a particularly tough year for all of us, and we give a special thanks to everyone who has been able to maintain their volunteering efforts through such adversity, as well as a hearty “thank you!” to past volunteers who were unable to continue during this time.

“The efforts of 1 billion volunteers is an important foundation at a pivotal moment for development to enable us to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.”

– UN Deputy Secretary General Amina J. Mohammed

Some might wonder how we can ever heal the world after such a year of turbulence and tragedy. Together, we can through volunteering! Volunteers are the glue which holds the world together!

Volunteers give of themselves every day. Today, we give back to volunteers! Volunteers, this is your day!
